Southworth Party Central!

I haven't been blogging I've been hosting. It's been a crazy couple of months. Party after Party and BBQ after BBQ and now 20lbs later I CAN BLOG! :) We have celebrated Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Several Birthdays.... Lemont, Angie, Tyler, Hailey (Mikes side of the family) and had guests come and go. It's been fun and exhausting but mostly fun! I'm happy we have a place that feels so comfortable for family and friends to meet. It's been a dream of mine!

Mikes Shananagans
Mikes been enjoying his summer too and although I'm not as active as last year he has found things to do in my place. He has taken his car to the track a couple of times for the day and returns home with a extra bounce in his step and enthusiasm for life. He has such a great time and loves driving his car on the track and sharing the experience with his clients! I just take a sigh of relief that he has returned home safe followed by a leap into his arms to welcome him home. He also went up AF canyon to ride his dirt bike with his sister and brother. This is a HUGE Southworth family tradition and he is convinced I will love it if I just learn how to do it. My thought is, that I don't have any desire what-so-ever but he continues to try. We'll see.... That ride only lasted an hour due to his invincible attitude toward flood warnings flashing all over the news the last couple months. He got swept up in a river he thought he could cross and with his bike still in his grip he was pulled down quickly until a fallen tree came to his aid. After several minutes of struggling and his brothers help, they were all back on dry land.. Another moment I was just happy that he returned home safely. Whew.. I just hope he gets smarter when he has a little girl to think about.. After drying off his bike later that day, they were able to go to 5 mile pass and do a few hours make up session for the mornings failed ride!

Friends & Family
I've had fun too.. Hanging with my sister, visiting my grandma, taking a trip up to Logan to see my friend Paiges baby #2. Nash Jason Adams is a man in a tiny little body. His hair looks styled (sideburns included) and his face looks wise and mature. Her daughter Wynter is growing up so fast and is walking and talking and has some pretty sweet dance moves. It was fun to spend the day with her and as a extra bonus, she sent me home with 3 bins FULL of Wynters old cloths. I'm lucky I'm having a girl the same mth as Wyn was born. Seasons and sizes are PERFECT... not to mention styley! :) Here is the little stud: (Doesn't he look so mature?)

Visitors from CO

My friend Malissa was also here for a little bit and spent the night with her son and came back with both her kids and parents for a bbq. We had some great laughs and caught up on her single life and my newly married life. There were some vast contrasts! But thats what makes it so fun! :) I love my friends and catching up like that reminds me how much I miss having them live close to me. Life would be that much more enriched!

Jesus wants me for a Sun..BEAM

Mike & I have also been teaching the sunbeams in church. We were sooo excited about it until we spent a few sundays trying to give a lesson. We had no idea how hard it was going to be. These little people are fresh out of nursery where they just got to play and have snack time. Sunbeam class is MUCH different. Also having them sit still and listen to the frequently redundant message... in the 3RD HOUR... is even harder! :) To be honest there were a few sundays when I didn't have it in me. I almost dreaded our next class... (terrible I know) But, now we are slowly coming up with a system. A bathroom break/drink break/a walk around the church, a quick "how was your week" convo and it's on to our lesson and seems to make the hour go by much smoother and faster. Now we LOVE it. We have some great kids and some great personalities in our class. The little angle the first week has now become the most defiant, the class clown comes in super hero gear, leg warmers, wrestling belts, and often says and does the most random entertaining things, we have a smarty pants who sits reverently and answers questions frequently, we have a girl that is most the time more interested as to what is under her chair and spends most the class bum up head down on the floor, another girl that looks you straight in the eye when you ask her questions about the lesson and comes back with answers like "repunsal has blond hair like me", another boy who at first was shy and didn't participate has now become one of the best examples and prime participants... and there is a chance he is suppose to be in the other class :( It's a fun 2 hours and we are now managing our expectations and learning to love it MUCH MORE!

While talking about all the things we have learned from birth until now, we had the kids say the abc's. Mike asked if they could say it backwards and proceeded to show them that he could (show off) I watched the class clown stand up from his chair and turn around with his back facing us. Then realized he was saying it backwards! Cute kid! :)

During singing time, one of the boys turned to me and said "damit is a swear word" Not sure if I heard him right, I asked him to repeat it. He did. I quickly stopped myself from laughing and reminded him that yes, that is a swear word and we shouldn't ever say it!

During singing time the newest girl to our class was given 3 suckers & we sang to her in celebration of her upcoming birthday. She decided that she would have 1 sucker now and save the rest for her and her sister on her birthday. One by one she ate each one justifying her sweet tooth for all 3. Then licking her lips after she finished the last one, said "I didn't want a sucker for my birthday"!
